The PTWW website offers a place where members and visitors alike can get together to discuss a range of gay and organizational topics.  These discussion forums connect Prime Timers from all over the world in a virtual community to get to know, support, and enrich each other's lives.  For instance, are you planning to attend the upcoming convention and need a roommate?  The "Worldwide convention" discussion area is just the place for that.  Need to know more about regional Prime Timers events?  Post your questions in that discussion forum.

The Prime Timers Worldwide website (www.primetimersww.com) contains a wealth of information and helpful resources. You can read it much like a regular newspaper with a cup of joe in the morning. But it is not always convenient to check the website for new information, especially if something important was announced days/weeks before your last visit.

If you are the representative for your chapter and have already uploaded your chapter's newsletters to the PTWW website, removing them is easy.  This is helpful if you want to change the filename of the newsletter so that your newsletters appear in chronological order, need to replace a newsletter with a revised version, and so on.

Permission to submit chapter information

Posted by | Published in: Top menu stuff |

In order submit chapter information via the Prime Timers Worldwide website, you must first gain approval from the webmaster and/or PTWW board.  This is needed to verify that you are a qualified chapter representative to supply this information.

Once approved, you can the submit the following information:

  • Chapter contact information (posted in your chapter area on PTWW website)
  • Chapter news articles (posted on PTWW front page)
  • Annual chapter events (posted on PTWW calendar)
  • Chapter newsletters (posted in your chapter's newsletter archive area)
  • Announcements (posted on the PTWW front page in the Announcements section)

Please note that when you are approved and then start making submissions, submissions may take up to a week to be approved before being posted on the PTWW website.  If you need faster approval, please contact the PTWW webmaster by clicking here after making your submission.

Uploading your chapter's monthly/quarterly newsletter to the PTWW website allows any member in the PTWW organization (as well as any visitor to the website) to find and view your chapter's newsletters.  Each time that you upload a newsletter, those subscribed to the "Chapter newsletters" mailing list and/or RSS feed are automatically notified each time that you upload.  Archiving your chapter's newsletters on the PTWW website is helpful for your own members as well as others who wish to visit your chapter or area.  It provides a history for your club as newsletters are backed up on a regular basis.

If your chapter already has a web-savvy member who can design websites, PTWW allows your website to be hosted on our server at no charge. You can use a myriad of personal website design packages (such as FrontPage, DreamWeaver, Expression, iLife, etc.) or install professional Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Joomla!, WordPress, Cold Fusion, and more. Celebrating Our 35th Year and Beyond!

What is Prime Timers?

Prime Timers Worldwide is a social organization that provides older gay and bisexual men the opportunity to enrich their lives.

Membership is open to men 21 years and older. We have over 8,000 members across the world. We are a 501(C)(3) non profit organization.

There are two parts to Prime Timers:

1. Chapters in several countries and many cities and areas in the U.S. and Canada.

2. Independent Members living away from those areas.

Prime Timers Worldwide is a social and educational organization that provides older gay and bisexual men the opportunity to enrich their lives.

Prime Timers are older gay or bisexual men (and younger men who wish to be in social interaction with mature men). Our members are men who choose to have their social lives enriched by the diverse activities in which our members engage. No single definition can describe Prime Timers, as they come from all walks of life. Prime Timers involve themselves in their community with volunteerism, politics, gay issues, arts, entertainment, medical issues, support groups and every other facet of healthy living. Prime Timers are fathers and care givers. They are businessmen and entrepreneurs. They are workers and they are retired. Some are always on the go, and some enjoy the quiet company of others at home. But one thing is true of all Prime Timers: they enjoy the opportunities, support, camaraderie and friendships that develop with other Prime Timers throughout the world.

Prime Timers was founded in 1987 by a retired professor, Woody Baldwin. He felt a wide gap existed in today's society which caters almost exclusively to youth. Woody began the Boston Chapter by placing ads in local newspapers and soliciting his many friends. He expected only a small handful of men to attend that first meeting and was surprised when over 40 showed up. The attendance at the first meeting indicated to Woody that a need existed for social and cultural organizations to aid and support the aging gay and bisexual man. Now this organization has grown to over 80 chapters worldwide, located throughout North America, Europe, Israel and Australia.

Travel opportunities for members are vast. Individual chapters welcome the chance to meet visitors from other chapters. Chapters enjoy showing off their communities and having visitors come away with a feeling of kinship and brotherhood with their new-found friends. Travel opportunities abound with two annual Prime Timers cruises and other travel events sponsored by the Worldwide Organization and individual chapters. We publish monthly newsletters: Prime Times and Outs and Ins. Prime Times is published on even numbered months and Outs and Ins on odd numbered months.

The Prime Timers Worldwide Convention is held every two years (odd-numbered years) to allow our members to gather to socialize with other Prime Timers, attend workshops geared towards Prime Timers and to conduct business of the organization. Our Conventions have been in Provincetown, MA; Vancouver, BC, Canada; Dallas, TX; Palm Springs, CA; Washington, DC, Houston, TX., Orlando, FL , Reno, Nevada, Toronto, Canada, Columbus, Ohio, Las Vegas, Nevada and our 2019 Convention will be held in October, 2019 in San Antoniio, Texas. In addition up to 3 'Regional Events' may be planned each year by our member chapters for local, Worldwide and Independent members.

Our organization is emerging as a leading force in the gay and bisexual communities, and while we are not a political or religious organization, we are concerned with society as it effects the aging gay and bisexual population. As our organization grows, we will be leading the pack in seeking answers to the needs and problems of maturing gay and bisexual men. It is hoped that a Prime Timers chapter will soon be in every major metropolitan area in the world.

Prime Timers Worldwide Downloadable Logo

Posted by | Published in: Top menu stuff |

Our new logo for Prime Timers Worldwide was originally created for us by a young member of our Pittsburgh chapter, David Stanton. David donated his artistry and work as his gift to the start of our twenty-first year as an organization. Our new logo was introduced at the Reno Convention on Saturday, October 13, 2007 and enhanced by Tom Hammond & Lawrence Peterson in 2012.

Each of our chapters is free to use the design without permission. They are also free to edit the logo in order to use it with their chapter's name in place of 'World Wide'.

You may download the entire logo file to work with it in Adobe Photoshop (Adobe Photoshop software is required; you can download a 30-day free trial of the software from www.adobe.com).  PNG files are also available in various sizes for those who simply wish to use the Worldwide logo as-in or make minor modifications using other graphic design programs.

Tom Hammond is willing to do graphics work and help in designing and maintaining websites for chapters (for a negotiated fee). You can view the work he does on this website.  Tom Hammond may be reached via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
