A song about intergenerational same-sex relationships

Due to numerous requests, we are once again sponsoring the annual Western Regional Gathering in 2017 from May 8-11, 2017 at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino on Las Vegas Boulevard.

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of friend and fellow Prime Timer, Walker Meade. Walker passed away peacefully in early February after a short illness.

He joined Prime Timers Sarasota in November of 2004. He jumped right in, attending most of our activities. He joined the board and served many years as our group's secretary, doing a great job. Many of us will also remember him for the great conversationalist he was. He was tall with a booming voice and held a commanding physical presence!

Time has a way of moving quickly and catching us unaware of the passing years. It seems like just yesterday that I was young and embarking on my life. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have some faded memories (and exaggerated ones too) of how it was back then and a few pictures and mementos of the events of my life.

Landing at the tiny Des Moines airport and seeing the Southwest ticket counter next to the ground floor baggage claim made us wonder about our decision to travel here. The drive to the hotel was a little more reassuring seeing peonies blooming. We passed a lake with towering Locust trees and great Cottonwoods starting their release of cotton snow.

Joe and I first met former SAPT member Robert Logan when we walked into the hotel lobby. Our travel fatigue was beginning to leave us. Our room overlooked the Des Moines river walk. We could see the runners, walkers and on Saturday, marathoners along the river.

"GLAAD Presents: State of Change – South Carolina" is GLAAD's short documentary film looking at the lives of LGBT people and allies living in South Carolina.

For the best times of your life

by Jim W

I kept putting this task further down on my never-ending To Do List, but now 7 days before Christmas, it has moved to a mission critical slot. When I was younger, multi-tasking was second nature.

As one nears the three-quarters-of-a-century mark, it is so easy to talk about aches, pains, operations, and tribulations –these harpies control much attention and remind one that time is limited and fleeting. Since I plan to live to 100 or more, I will chose to focus on the good and happy aspects of life that will give me a resolve to complete this journey.
