The Charlotte Prime Timers were proud to have a booth in this year's Charlotte Pride. The booth looked great and many people stopped by to spin the wheel to win a prize. We gave out a lot of prizes to females and kids, but we took the opportunity to tell the females if they knew of any adult males who could benefit from our group to send them our way, and hopefully the kids gained a good memory of Prime Timers. Most important is that we added several pages of prospects and lent visible support to the mission of Charlotte Pride. The two-day event set an attendance record at 165,000. The parade on Sunday featured 6,000 people marching in 170 groups. There were also 42 floats. A special thank-you to the numerous Prime Timers volunteers who were responsible for making the booth a reality, including set-up, take-down, manning, and donating prizes.

After weeks of planning, the Charlotte Prime Times held their annual picnic at Park Road Park on Saturday, May 19. The weather forecast had been bad all week, calling for thunderstorms. However, the guys lucked out, and the weather for the picnic was great—not too hot or cold and no rain. Dennis, John, and Sam fired up the grills about 10:30 a.m. and grilled hamburgers, brats, and wieners, ready for serving at noon. Sixty-five members and guests assembled by noon, bringing delicious potluck dishes and mouth-watering desserts. After the meal, some played croquet, cornhole, and horseshoes, while others simply walked around the lake. Another group played Dominoes with a formation that looked like a large city freeway. Thanks to all who worked hard to make the picnic a success.

During the weekend of April 20th, the Charlotte Prime Timers celebrated the 25th anniversary of their founding. Before the weekend, the Charlotte board members hosted Jack Nimmo, president of Prime Timers Worldwide with a dinner at 300 East Restaurant on Thursday evening, April 19. On Friday evening, approximately 20 Prime Timers met at Sidelines Sports Bar and Billiards on South Boulevard for an evening of fun and the opportunity to meet Jack.

Over 80 Charlotte Prime Timers, entertainers, and guests attended the 20th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Charlotte Prime Timers chapter. The celebration was held Saturday evening, April 20, in the Community Center Building at Park Road Baptist Church.

The dining hall was beautifully decorated with round tables covered with linen tablecloths and a lovely mirror centerpiece on each table. Pictures taken over the last 15 years of chapter events were projected on a huge screen during the social hour. Sam Powell, President of Charlotte Prime Timers welcomed the group and invited them to enjoy a delicious buffet catered by Bistro Catering and Events.
