This area contains all of the news articles from the Prime Timers Worldwide quarterly newsletter.  They are listed in chronological order, with the most recent news article listed first.  Feel free to peruse this article archive; it is chock full of interesting stories from local chapters, the worldwide organization as a whole, and important news to its members.

The Worldwide Board needs a Director-at-Large. This Director-at-Large will be responsible for making calls to 24 chapters each quarter. Being on the Board also gives you opportunities to be on other committees or panels as needed. This Board position requires you attend a Board conference call every 6 weeks or so. You must have at minimum basic computer knowledge. The Board requires one face-to-face visit each year. Our meeting this year will be in Myrtle Beach, SC in October. Your registration fee will be paid for; however, you are required to pay for transportation and hotel. In 2019, our Worldwide Convention will be in San Antonio, TX. Your registration and hotel fee will be paid for then. You will be responsible for your own transportation.

Scam Alert!

Published in: Click to show all news |

There are many scams from people who are trying to get our money. A year ago, Prime Timers Worldwide was one such victim. Three attempts were made to scam us this year alone, and two of those occurred during the same morning recently.

Late in April, I was asked to step in and conduct the monthly Prime Timers Sarasota meeting. This article is based on my notes and presentation and although directed at the one specific chapter, it applies to all. First off, let me say that this article was written after the fact.

As I viewed the embryo of a future granddaughter for our late chapter president, I thought of the unexpected links that are formed by our association with Prime Timers and the friends and extended relationships that are formed because we found this organization. Fortunately for Gene, cancer did not take him before knowing the joy of having his first grandchild – a boy. This new granddaughter will have to be celebrated by his friends in Prime Timers that developed a lasting bond with Gene's daughters who came to love the Prime Timers and their acts of kindness and concern through his long struggle with incurable cancer. Do you have examples of how your chapter's acts of caring for fellow Prime Timers have become unforgettable bonds between family members and Prime Timers Worldwide?
