Austin chapter is keeping up its social schedule with weekly lunch, Koffee Klatch, bridge and bowling. There are also less frequent events, such as book group, walking group, monthly dine out, game night, cinema and others. In the March monthly meeting, the membership chose four members to serve on the chapter Board. Board members serve two year terms with half the board elected every other year, giving continuity after the election.

Nanaimo Prime Timers are discussing pride events, up and down Vancouver Island, that they may participate in. It may be difficult getting a Prime Timer group large enough to march or ride at Nanaimo Pride. Several members have commitments to participate in other groups. The club had a successful Mardi Gras party with Cajun food. A possible garage sale is in the works. The club is also starting their own web page working with Tom Hammond.

The chapter had a St Patrick's Day potluck and a newsletter article about St. Patrick. President Dick was musing about if a pill was invented to stop the aging process, what would be the best age to take it.

The club celebrated St Patrick's day with a party on March 17. Members were asked to wear everything green they can find. The March newsletter has its share of green with a couple of cartoons and jokes. There was an old Irish saying, "When you slide down the bannister of life, may splinters never point in the wrong direction". The membership will participate in April Pride Fest and will have a booth set up.
