Provincetown (a.k.a P-Town) is a vacation resort town at the very tip of Cape Cod. Throughout the year, many activities take place making it a great place to have fun. The two most notable are the Pride Festival in the summer and Halloween.

The Rhode Island Primetimers always look forward to "Halloween in P-Town." It's a time when we meet-up with both the Connecticut and Boston chapters for a three-day weekend. We renew friendships with fellow members and, in general, have a good time.

Most people arrive on Friday afternoon and gather in the main room. Later in the evening, we meet in groups to carpool into town for dinner and some sightseeing. On Saturday morning, the hotel gave us a great buffet breakfast. Then back into town once again for sightseeing and more shopping. Many of the businesses are gay owned or have a rainbow flag proudly displayed. Among the many things you can buy are jewelry, clothing, and assorted supplies to improve your love life.

At the end of the day, it was back to the hotel to get ready for the big event of the weekend: a costume party followed by a banquet. The party photos seen below are from the 2014 event.

Those of us who choose not to be in costume and wished to skip the banquet head into town to look at the people in costume wandering the street. P-Town in late October is cold and many times damp. Looking at some of the people dressed (undressed?) for the evening makes me wonder if they are going to freeze to death. Somehow they survive.

After some more shopping, we find our favorite place for dinner, the Lobster Pot. No matter how crowded, they always manage to make room for a party of eight to ten Prime Timers.

After an evening of fun, it was back to the hotel. Sunday morning was another fabulous breakfast, then back to our rooms to pack our bags for our return trip home. As always, everyone had another great weekend and are already looking forward to P-Town 2017!
