Did you know Prime Timers Worldwide has a chapter in Tel Aviv, Israel. About fifteen or so meet twice a week at the GLBT Community Center there in Tel Aviv, on Mondays and Thursdays. The hours are usually from 10 - 1. There is always coffee, and refreshment snacks of some kind. Tel Aviv is very gay-friendly, works closely with the gay community, and operates the center. The city-sponsors many activities for seniors, and many of the guys are also very active with that organization. Usually each month the group will get together for a movie.

Benny Raphael, their unofficial spokesperson, wrote recently, commenting on the turmoil in their part of the world. "Yes, we're still here in spite of all the turmoil and un-rest in this region of the world. Watching the events in the neighbouring countries with much trepidation and keeping a watchful eye on the developments." He continues that he enjoyed reading Woody's column in the October newsletter, and would like to add a few "words of wisdom" himself. Benny continued "Often the happiest people in the world don't have the best of everything....they just make the best of what they have- Everything," and "Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart". Many of you may have met Benny when he attended the 2011 convention in Palm Springs.

Among the boys is a distinctly international flavor. There are native-born Israelis, some from the U.S., the U.K., South America, and South Africa. The language spoken at their get-togethers is Hebrew, but all know English.

They are all delighted to welcome any visitors and can give suggestions and directions on what to see or to do, or where to get a good meal. Several have gone on Prime Timer sponsored cruises, one being mentioned was the cruise from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale.
